Bad news! What bad news?

So there are to be some restructuring efforts in my department at work. 54 staff needs to be cut to 47. No compulsory redundancies are going to be made but there is a voluntary option for those that want to take it. If not enough people voluntarily submit to leaving then an assessment is carried out and those not of a high enough standard will be moved onwards within the company.

When this was announced there were some glum and worried faces to be seen. But there was not one here for within 5 seconds I had already looked at the bigger picture figured out that I had no reason to worry.

Why you may ask. Is it because of a little inside knowledge? Is it because I think a little to highly of myself and think that I am indispensable???

None of the above for I sussed it all out quickly. I knew there would be some definite takers of the Voluntary Redundency. Maybe not the 7 required but near enough to the number. Also I know that if it came to the assessment I have sufficient skills, knowledge and experience to see me through. I may not be the best but I certainly know my stuff.

Anyone that is worrying must have doubts about their abilitiesif they feel they may not make it past the assessment. But some of those that are worrying have no reason to do so.
